Do you allow women to wear pants to church?
Yes, the only thing we ask for is modesty.
Do you believe in speaking in tongues and being slain in the spirit?
Yes, we are Pentecostal and we believe that the gifts of the spirit and freedom of worship is available for those who desire to do so.
What programs do you have for kids and youth?
We are a family oriented church. We have services designed just for kids and youth on Wednesday night. We also have youth and children discipleship classes on Sunday morning as well as children's church during regular Sunday morning worship. We have a youth and children's ministries team that teaches them sign language, singing, and drama.
Can anyone take communion?
Yes, if you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
What type of music is in your adult worship services?
Our music style is more contemporary but we still love the hymns from time to time.
Can you be divorced and come to your church?
Absolutely! Our God is a God of restoration and healing, in fact Philippians 3;13 says to forget those things behind us and reach forward to a wonderful future.
Will I be able to develop my spiritual gifts?
Yes, we have various ministries that we make available to those who desire to be used of God in a meaningful way.
Do you believe that only those in the Pentecost religion will make heaven?
Absolutely not! Romans 10:13 says “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved!”
1. Admit that you are a sinner.
The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
2. Know that God has already provided for your salvation.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son [Jesus Christ] that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
3. Know that you cannot save yourself.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).
4. Repent of your sins.
“Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
5. Ask Jesus Christ to save you.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13) and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).
6. Proclaim Jesus before others.
“If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9, 10).
Do you teach your people that they can only date and befriend people in you denomination?
No, in John 10;16 Jesus said "I have other sheep that are not of this fold". Jesus was a friend to all ...even sinners but we must be careful that those friendships do not interfere with our relationship with God. However, being married for 34 years I can say that marriage is difficult at times. The more things we agree on together..the better. If we date (which we never know which date will lead to marriage) those of a different faith it can add complications, like where to go to church, what denomination do you raise your child. It would be one less obstacle to deal with if you were of like faith.
Do you have any positions open for people to work in your church?
Always! God is constantly opening up new ministries in our church. We have a great staff at First AG that is united in love and ministry and we love it when God sends new people to join in the effort to win souls for the Kingdom!
Why do people cry and pray loud in your church?
Why do people shout or cry at different other events like sports, TV shows, weddings etc. There are many reasons why people are emotional in what they do and experience. We believe that just because one is in church they should not have to suppress the way they may feel toward God. I'm sure in heaven there will be a lot of expressions of joy.
Psalm 150:1-6 Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Psalm 33:1-4 Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.
